It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas !

Even at my house!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
Take a look in the five and ten glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Toys in ev'ry store
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.

I love Christmas time. The Christmas cards, the baking of wonderful goodies, The great smells coming from the kitchen, the wrapping of pretty packages with great bows, Christmas parties with friends, time spent with family and the remembering and celebration of the birth of our Lord!

Families have traditions and ours is not an exception. There are those favorite cookies baked every year. The cookie decorating done every year with my grand daughter, who is the decorating queen! The Children's Christmas Service on Christmas Evening, cookies and milk left out for Santa, opening one gift on Christmas Eve, decorating the house inside and out and then the celebration Christmas morning.

This year we have added an extra stocking for our newest member of the family. Lucy doesn't have a clue what it is. All she wants is her food, someone to play with her and her toys and to go out for walks. Yes, Lucy is our puppy who is 6 months old.

This is one of my favorite things to bring out at Christmas. My husband made this Nativity set many years ago. It is made in many pieces like a puzzle all with different wood stains. It is my favorite!

My grand daughter making her ginger bread train! She did get to enjoy a few candies along the decorating way!

Here is the finished train! It will make a great centerpiece on the dining table!

Here are the cookies we decorated. We made sugar cookies and gingerbread men. Don't they look great!

I also made some chocolate chip snowball cookies.
There is still more to bake, green tree cookies and pumpkin bread so the next few days the smells in my kitchen will be wonderful.

I hope you and your family are enjoying the preparations of this great holiday and taking time to reflect on all your wonderful blessings!

Life is a wonderful and interesting adventure!
